# Account Signature

`account-signature.<profile>.v1` is a method family for ENS address records.
Select the exact profile from the live descriptor's `m` field. The profile
defines the coin types, target account, signing input, and method-proof schema.

Require `u` to identify the complete [proof envelope](/implementers/proof-envelope).
Apply the shared [retrieval rules](/implementers/proof-retrieval). The location
is transport, not evidence of account control. No proof key is required.

Verify `authoritySignature` using the selected ENS authority. Separately verify
the target approval using the selected profile. Both approvals must bind the
same common claim, and both must pass even if the accounts are identical.

Successful verification returns `control`. Unknown profiles are unsupported;
do not substitute another profile or signature interpretation. No other account
profiles are defined on these pages yet.
